U16 Football Our U16 footballers lined out against St Patricks last Monday in the first round of the Championship. A well fought game with the team’s level at half time at 1.04 each. St. Patrick’s finished the stronger with the final score 3.07 to 1.07. Monaleen were missing some key players but are hoping to field a full strength side the second round game against Fr Casey’s in AbbeyFeale this week. Scorers for Monaleen were Evan Quinlan 0.5, Kelvin Real 1.0, Conor McCarthy 0.1 and Liam Danaher 0.1.

U14 Football Great week for the U14 footballers with wins in the league and the Feile competitions. The team won the first game of the league with a convincing win of 2.10 to 2.03 against Pallasgreen early in the week. They followed up on that good start with a great win against Oola on Saturday evening in the Feile Semi-Final by 1.06 to 1.04. The Limerick final is planned for Saturday week, but to be confirmed, and the opposition will be Mungret. The winners of this competition will go on to represent Limerick in the All Ireland finals in Kildare in July. Best of luck to the team in the final. Monaleen last represented Limerick at this level in 1999.

U14 Hurling The U14 Hurlers were narrowly defeated by Mungret in the Feile competition last week, loosing in the end by 0.2 points after extra time. A tightly contested game right to the end and hard luck to the team who put in a great performance.

U12 Camogie The U12 girls camogie have a busy schedule this week with two games back to back. They take on Na Pairsaigh on Wednesday 8th and Treaty Gaels on Thursday 9th. Both games throw in at 6.30pm. Good luck to the girls in both games.

U12 Hurling The U12 Hurlers got their season underway on Tuesday evening when they played a friendly with Ahane. After a good start they fell behind early in the second half when Ahane got two quick goals. However we showed plenty of spirit to fight back for a draw thanks to a late point from Darragh Murphy who had played strongly throughout the game. Others to shine were Shane Griffin in goal, Daniel Power, Darren Golden and Bryan Tiernan.

There was no winner of the club lotto draw on 2nd April. The numbers drawn were 3, 8, 12, 13 Next week’s jackpot will be €17,100 The lucky dip winners were · Edel Durack Glenside · Gerry Enright Caislean Nua · Nancy Collins Monaleen Road · Jack O` Sullivan C/O the Club
